Tom, I have to disagree with you. Those draft picks could have gotten a lot more than a pick next year. New York is trying to get rid of Obi Taupin. If you remember, when he got to play extended minutes he was great. I think giving those picks and more would have been better spent on Obi. Then there is the OG scenario. OG to me would be worth giving Toronto the 7th, 26th and TJ and Chris to get him into the Blue and Gold. The power forwards in the draft have a lot of potential but getting OG moving into his prime - which would be the next 4 years - would move us into really contending. A front line of Turner, OG and Obi would be amazing. I really was bummed when I read the trade news. There had to be a better deal somewhere for those picks.

I would think they could still flip the better 2024 pick. Plus, the No. 7, 26 and player option is still available. Just seems like a hedge against not finding a good deal being stuck with 5 picks.

Time will soon tell…

Tricky part with OG and Obi is keeping them past one year. Lot of moving parts with those deals.

I think a lot of things will be set in motion with the draft process. A lot of trades depend of Hornets choice at 2. You can tell GM are already in full war mode and just wait for more opportunities. Looks like everybody want to trade but can't find what they are looking for. Even Phoenix need to be smart to fill their roster. Pritchard time is coming.

Seems we are in rumors talk for Tobias Harris. I don't see Philly let him go but it's not a surprise if we are looking into it.

Why though? What could he bring to a team in this developmental phase you think? There are cheaper veterans out there imo

Because maybe he can become a good veteran (he got solid numbers) with a short contract. Money is not a problem for the pacers right now it's a good time to pick some contract you can trade later.

Best case for Harris to Pacers, he plays key role in getting the Pacers to playoffs which is key this year for Haliburton. Like OG, tho, do you want to extend him past this year at $40 mil-ish per? Would depend on the price of the trade, I guess.

This is a really smart move, albeit unsexy. We have the same amount of money/assets/poker chips as we started with, they’re just allocated a little bit differently where they are still viable currency but could potentially grow 6-9% in value in a years time. I think Kevin Pritchard is a top 3 NBA General Manager.
