Bottom line for the Toronto game was they lost because Haliburton played terribly and Carlisle made some dumb decisions. Starting Freeman was idiotic. Not utilizing McConnell more was confounding. For Haliburton, the Pacers aren’t beating anyone when he goes 5-18 from the field and 2-9 from 3. Right now, he’s a crappy shooter.
Pacers lose on the road because Haliburton stinks on the road. His road v. home numbers are striking, which suggests he either isn’t focused enough when playing on the road or (more likely) his back injury - which the Pacers do not list on the injury report, as far as I know - flares up.
It’s pretty clear that the back bothers him on the road. I don’t think he is partying every road game. It’s his shooting that just looks terrible: air balling shots that a max player should hit. If the Pacers have a max deal to a player they knew had a chronic back injury, I can’t fathom that level of stupidity.
Not partying now, partying the whole off season instead of working on his game. he's talked about how depressed he got not playing with the US team. He's not gotten any better after working with the best players in the world.
And after improving every year before that. So I sure hope there's a reason.

While not good news, I'd be thrilled to know if he really has a back injury.
And hasn't just sucked his game away partying with the "stars". NOT the same player as last season.

There are positives though. Mathurin, Walker, and other players are getting the playing time they have desperately needed to develop.
