who exactly constitutes our "clogged big man situation"?

I can't believe they took 3 guards......................

Well they have four big men/centers and now 7 guards. The imbalance continues. Although, I can see Sheppard as a legit 3 at least.

I think more likely they have 1 center. They cut the back up. (Goga) Theis is a non issue, and neither Jalen Smith nor Isaiah Jackson resemble a center in anything but a very weak front line. Are you calling Nwora a Center or a guard? He's certainly a wing.

Both Smith and Jackson were pretty big disappointments last year and neither is the answer at 4 OR 5. I would agree that TJD would compete with those 2 with probably similar games.

So where's that logjam exactly?

TD should have been drooling to come here to compete against that crew. The Pacers should have had serious interest if they thought he could help.

Instead they drafted guards that they don't really need....

Lots of pandering the iu base I think. They just weren't interested.

Doesn’t matter how we classify them, Pacers have Turner, IJax, JSmith and Theis as centers. Tried JSmith at 4 last year, didn’t work. I’d still love to see IJax develop into an option at 4 because if he stays on the ground he could guard 3s and 4s. All that said, TJD had a deal with Warriors didn’t want to risk 2-way with Pacers.

BS. Sorry but I heard nor saw ANYTHING suggesting TJD did not want to come to the pacers or that he somehow had a pre existing deal with GS. (Horse Hockey)

Not a word of that until a hoosier fan asks the Pacers why they didn't take him.

And then other hoosier fans taking up the "he had a prior deal with GS" ! LOL

No it doesn't matter how we classify those guys, what matters is how they PLAY and those guys are NOT centers and there is plenty of proof on the tape if you really want to go there. JSmith pretty much flopped as the 4, that's why they just drafted one. He WAS a 5 by default on a pretty pitifully weak front line that got dominated game in and game out.

Nwora is Clearly a wing player as is Kendall Brown, so not sure what you mean by 4 bigs and all guards. Mathurin is as much 3 as he is 2.

Sorry but if honestly insist that JSmith and Jax are 5's, I can't take you very seriously as a sports writer.

And you're telling me with a straight face that you didn't read TJD lips sayign "going to regret it" when the Pacers passed him by?

Again.

We ALL saw it. ;)

Bottom line is what I said previously, they didn't consider TJD to be worthy of their picks. To submit after OTHER stories as to rationalize it is just silly. And lame. And lying.

I like Sheppard. I’m not sure Mathurin is physically strong enough or shoots it well enough from 3 to be more than 6th man on a winning team . Free Agency will be key for the Pacers. Although he would be a natural with Tyreece, TJD will have an opportunity with the Warriors.

I am so disappointed with this draft. I am an Ignite season ticket holder and I have seen Mojave King play 20 times. There is nothing there. The kid will need a city guide to Ft.Wayne. (Mad Ants will still be there next season, right?) Passing on TJD is a slap in the face to every IU and Pacer fan. Let’s see, how many Pacer guards does it take to change a light bulb? Obviously, we needed more. LOL! You know with personal development our team would be a playoff team without adding anyone next year. (As long as Tyreses remains healthy.) Just sitting here in Las Vegas shaking my head. I guess I should go buy my rookie league tickets today. I’m a masochist who always goes and watches us get destroyed every year n the rookie league. This year should be no different. It may be worse.

Givony mentioned he is likely a stash candidate too. May play in Australia this season.

Are you coming out to Vegas for Summer League?
