There is a lot to overreact to from the Celtics game. I believe it was the second worst defeat in franchise history and it set NBA records that have held since 1958. It was truly terrible. The first group that should come under scrutiny is the coaching staff. Carlisle emphasized defense all offseason/trading camp and brought in his buddy, Jim Boylen, to help coach it. The early results are an unmitigated disaster. Whatever they are doing, it ain’t working. They either need to change what they do or the Pacers FO needs to change the coaching staff.

Perhaps resigning Rick Carlisle to an extension was not a smart idea.

The team just had one of its worst losses in franchise history. Whatever he and his assistants are coaching, it ain’t working right now.

Tom, I thought the loss on Sunday really rested on coach’s shoulders. He could see, as we all could, the guards were not sharp. Ty, Aaron, Bruce all with 4 turnovers. Ty was having a horrendous shooting night. The probable solution was sitting on the bench in the form of TJ. I’m sure he would have stopped the bleeding. I hope Rick would not be so set in his ways that he is unable to see solutions as they’re presented during the game. Our rotation wasn’t working on Monday. Even when we were in the lead throughout the night, the team played as poorly as we have seen through three games. Bad decisions and poor shooting was everywhere. TJ should have been brought in. Why that wasn’t on the table is a little baffling. What do you think?

Sorry for the late response, but it took about, what, 4-5 possessions,, or more specifically 3-4 early turnovers to know things were going sideways. Said before the season, will be interesting to see how they handle TJ and Theis, two players that can help winning right now, but limit younger guys. Front office/Carlisle seem set on letting core with Stix and Nembhard get heavy minutes.

Wins or losses are always on the players on the floor. TJ is 3d string at this point and likely trade bait. You gotta love the guy but he wasnt' going to turn the game.

Never the coaching staff’s fault? Come on, man.
