The Pacers make a brief stop at the Fieldhouse for a big game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night. Everyone in the Pacers organization will work through this game with a heavy heart following the passing of Slick Leonard, but the show must go on just as Slick would want it. In fact, it is fitting that Slick passed on a game day, no better way to celebrate the incredible life he had than with a game at the Fieldhouse.

As for the game, the Pacers are riding a three-game winning streak but find themselves in a familiar position, which has generate brutal results in the past. With health improving and wins giving hope to a strong finish, the Pacers must face not only an elite opponent but a team that has played at an elite level of late. For addition poor trend news, the game will be nationally televised on TNT.

But they have to play the game so let’s go with the narrative that the Pacers are due to rise up and show out on TNT to gather a huge win that would really give them a boost for the last quarter of the regular season.

The Pacers have been pushing the pace of late, outscoring opponents while struggling on D without Myles Turner. The big man remains on the injury list but his availability against the Clips would help drastically at the defensive end.

As mentioned above, the Clips are rolling after winning 11 of their last 13 games. During that stretch, former Pacer Paul George has found his stride, scoring over 30 points in the team’s last three games. Kawhi Leonard sat out the Clippers’ last game against Detroit for rest and is now listed as out against the Pacers with a sore right foot.

With the Clippers depth taking a hit, the Pacers have an good opportunity to flip the script on their national TV game history and even the score after getting throttled by the Clips in mid-January.
