The Pacers slide down I-95 going from one Garden to the next when they visit the Knicks in Madison Square Garden on Saturday night.
After struggling down the stretch on Friday night in Boston, the Pacers took another L and are now sliding down the Eastern Conference standings where consecutive losses make for a quick drop among the big group of teams bunched around the middle of the standings.
The Pacers started Friday in fourth place ahead of the Knicks but arrive at MSG in eighth place, albeit just percentage points behind the Heat, Knicks and Celtics. But the current pace the Pacer are playing at could have them just as quickly slide out of the playoff race, especially when you consider the upcoming schedule which is mostly on the road.
All of this is to say, the Pacers really need to beat the Knicks.
