The Pacers begin a three-game stretch on the road in Brooklyn on Wednesday night when they face the Nets at the Barclays Center.
While the Pacers are desperate for a win to end their three-game losing streak, they get no motivational advantage against their opponent since the Nets are also riding a three-game streak while dealing with the absence of Kevin Durant.
The one advantage the Pacers do have (aside from the absence of KD!!!) is that the Nets were in Detroit last night losing to the Pistons while the Pacers were in their hotel in Brooklyn watching.
The Pacers will need to take advantage of the Nets’ struggles to stop other teams. Brooklyn has given up over 120 points in their last five games which includes giving up 149 points to the Wizards.
Slowing down Kyrie Irving and James Harden is obviously a challenge to surviving their respective offensive outbursts with a consistent attack on the Nets’ defense is a path to victory, one the Pacers should be rested and ready to take if they can avoid an otherworldly performance from Harden or Kyrie.
