The Pacers are in Cleveland on Friday to face the Cavaliers in the second of four preseason games for the blue and gold.
The Pacers will continue working on the two keys of togetherness and defense, coach Rick Carlisle is emphasizing to start the season. Both areas showed the need for attention in the preseason opener against the Knicks.
Also worth watching is how the rotation is handled, assuming everyone plays, and if both rookies continue to get early burn off the bench in the reserve rotation.
The Cavs have morphed into a fun, young team to watch on most nights with rookie Evan Mobley joining the dynamic backcourt of Darius Garland and Collin Sexton to present a developing threat in the East. At the other end of the Cavs’ roster, local legend Kyle Guy is hoping to get some run after signing as camp was set to begin.
The Pacers should also throw recent camp signee, Brad Wanamaker into the mix to see how the old pro may fit in the reserve point guard role they are trying to fill behind T.J. McConnell.
