The Pacers flew to New Orleans for a one-game road trip against the Pelicans on Monday night in what will be the first of nine consecutive games against Western Conference teams.
After playing the Pels, the Pacers return to the Fieldhouse to host the Rockets on Wednesday and the Suns on Saturday. Then they leave town for their first extended road trip with five games out west.
On Sunday, Justin Holiday and Nate Bjorkgren both pointed toward the rebound deficit the Pacers had in their loss to the Knicks as a critical area of improvement going forward. As Holiday mentioned, if they take care of the glass, they win that game which is certainly hard to argue. It would also help if the Pacers didn’t give the opponent so many rebounding opportunities via missed shots.
The rebounding challenge won’t get any easier with the Pelicans trotting out a dynamic double-big lineup with Zion Williamson and Steven Adams.
