The Pacers play the first game of a back-to-back on Monday afternoon when they “visit” the Washington WIzards on Monday afternoon.
The severly short-handed Wizards don’t care that the Pacers are playing without Domantas Sabonis, Victor Oladipo and Jeremy Lamb since they are playing in the bubble with a severe fire power shortage, missing Bradley Beal, John Wall and Davis Bertans.
The Pacers are resting Oladipo to avoid playing him in back-to-back games so it is presumed he will play against Orlando on Tuesday. The good guys do get Malcolm Brogdon back after he missed the Philly game with a sore neck. Brogdon’s minutes will likely be monitored based on how the neck holds up after the tip.
This is a major letdown situation for the Pacers going from the high of beating the Sixers in sensational fashion to playing the Wiz who appear to be playing out the string of the regular season in Orlando. But the guys Washington puts on the court are playing for pay, too and looking for a better situation.
One of those guys is former IU big man, Thomas Bryant who put up 30 points on Sunday in the Wizard’s 118-110 loss to Brooklyn. The Pacers still need to execute and deliver their signature effort to back up a big effort on Saturday with another win against the Wiz.
