The Indiana Pacers fell flat far too often in Game 1 against the Miami Heat, allowing the Heat to take away their offense while getting big shots late from both Jimmy Butler and Goran Dragic. The Pacers led 87-85 early in the fourth quarter, but allowed six straight to follow, giving the Heat a lead for good. The Pacers were outscored 32-21 in the fourth quarter to fall behind 0-1 in their first round series.
T.J. Warren and Malcolm Brogdon each scored 22 to lead the Pacers, but positives from both came in bunches leading to a lot of really tough stretches. Justin Holiday and JaKarr Sampson reached double figures with 11 & 10 respectively, shooting 9-10 combined from the floor.
Victor Oladipo left the game early after getting poked in the eye and foul trouble to Aaron Holiday limited the starting backcourt to just 21 combined minutes.
Game 2 will be Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. as Indiana looks for an answer to Miami’s intensity.
