The NBA trade deadline passes on Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m. ET and while there is little chatter about any deals involving the Pacers, the team is no doubt taking calls so there is always a possibility of something breaking during the day.
There have already been several deals and more reportedly close which will impact the Eastern Conference, so there will be no shortage of topics to follow and discuss here.
Prior to the unfathomable meltdown against the Raptors last night, it seemed possible that Toronto may offer Pascal Siakam for Doug McDermott before the game was over. But alas, they will be more clear-headed this morning after stealing the W.
Myles Turner and Aaron Holiday continue to be the names mentioned most often with regard to the trade deadline and the Pacers. Make sure you check out CC’s trade deadline thoughts. Also, J. Michael from the Indy Star reports the Knicks inquired about Aaron Holiday.
The Knicks, a league source told IndyStar, reached out regarding a deal, but that didn’t go far. They’re loaded with forwards and lack guards with a reliable shooting stroke.
The Pacers covet players who can contribute now — not picks. They have enough youth to develop such as Bitadze, Alize Johnson, Edmond Sumner and, if they hold on to him, Aaron Holiday.
Please share your thoughts on what the Pacers should do and what is happening with teams surrounding them in the Eastern Conference standings.
