The game will look strange at the Fieldhouse for a couple of reasons. First, there will be very few people in the stands and secondly, those stands will look different after the renovations to the guts of the Fieldhouse that took place during the extended offseason.
The Pacers hoped to have Myles Turner available after he missed the game in Cleveland on Monday due to illness but he remains out for a concussion evaluation. To make things sporting, Joel Embiid is sitting out or the Sixers, as well.
The Sixers continue to present matchup issues throughout their lineup lead by Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid, but the addition of perimeter shooting and defensive help with Seth Curry and Danny Green give Philly all of the requisite parts to beat you in various ways. With Embiid out, Philly can turn to another offseason addition in Dwight Howard.
Preseason or not, this should be a great test for the Pacers’ first unit to see how they are progressing while adapting to Nate Bjorkgren’s style of play.
