After cashing in all of their excuses for a loss on Monday night in Utah, the Pacers return to action after a day to rest and warm up in Phoenix. The Suns have shown more fight this season than in recent years with veteran Ricky Rubio steadying the starting lineup that includes dangerous scorers in Devin Booker and Kelly Oubre.
The Suns have a worse home than road record although an equal number of nine wins both on the road and at home. There are some impressive wins among their 18, including dubs over the Clippers, Sixers and Celtics. An eight-game losing streak through a brutal stretch of their December schedule has kept the Suns well below .500 but they are just two games out of a playoff spot in the West.
The Pacers have to bring it at both ends to get back to their winning ways. T.J. Warren should be plenty motivated to go at his former team which will be nice compared to the light work he had in Utah, taking just four shots. The positive result from that nasty final score against the Jazz was that the all of the starters ended up playing fewer than 30 minutes, so they were able to get an early start on their off day.
