The Indiana Pacers reversed their fortunes in a big way in the fourth quarter, overcoming an eight point deficit in the final eight minutes to come away with a gutsy win over the Denver Nuggets. Doug McDermott scored 18 in the fourth quarter, including the go-ahead bucket with 4:13 left in the game.
In addition to McDermott’s big quarter, the Pacers got crucial minutes from Domantas Sabonis, who completed a 22 point, 15 rebound, and 10 assist triple double. Malcolm Brogdon came on late as well, including a monster jam in the final minute to help seal the victory.
Though the Pacers struggled all night to string together baskets and stops, T.J. Warren’s scoring (22 points) was key in allowing Indiana to stay within striking distance despite nothing seemingly going right for three quarters.
Indiana begins their road trip with a win, and will face the Utah Jazz tomorrow night on the second night of a back-to-back.
