As we learned on Jan. 2 at the Fieldhouse, the Nuggets are a tough matchup for the Pacers. In that first meeting, the Pacers started strong but the Nuggets finished stronger to earn 124-116 win. The Pacers enjoyed big games from Jeremy Lamb, Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis which nullified strong games from Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.
But former Fishers elementary school phenom, Michael Porter Jr. was the difference in the second half. Porter scored 25 points in a variety of ways by making 11 of 12 shots to tip the game in Denver’s favor.
Of course, the Pacers played that game without Malcolm Brogdon but that won’t be the case this time around. In fact, the Pacers should have a significant health advantage with just Jeremy Lamb listed as questionable. Meanwhile, Denver has listed Gary Harris, Jamal Murray and Paul Millsap as out.
