The Pacers (24-15) host the 76ers (25-15) for the third game of their four-game season series with critical playoff tie breaker considerations in play.

The teams have split their first two games, so the Pacers need to hold serve at home against the Sixers who will be without Joel Embiid. Philly’s big man also missed the New Year’s Eve matinee at the Fieldhouse when the Pacers rolled to a 115-97 win.

That game was also the last time we saw Malcolm Brogdon on the court. Brogdon tweaked his back in the first quarter and left the game for good and has missed the five games since. Strep throat kept Brogdon out against Chicago so he remains questionable along with Domas Sabonis (knee). If either or both can play, they are game-time decisons as of 5:30 pm, the Pacers should get a nice boost to go along with the Fieldhouse crowd.

Philly is 2-5 in their last seven games which has helped the Pacers keep pace in the Eastern Conference standings despite their own struggles of late. The Sixers remain a half game ahead of the Pacers for the fifth spot in the East with Toronto a half game ahead of Philly in fourth.
