Myles Turner is trying to put in some extra work this offseason as he battles for a roster spot on USA Basketball’s National Team which will play in the FIBA World Cup at the end of August.

Turner has been in Las Vegas working out with USA Basketball as Gregg Popovich and his staff try to determine the next round of cuts on their way to finalizing the 12-man World Cup roster.

The current camp wraps up with a scrimmage on Friday night against the Select squad. The scrimmage will be televised and streamed online, so check it out and share your thoughts on how Turner shows out.

It appears Turner is in a four-man battle for two big man spots with Brook Lopez, Mason Plumlee and Bam Adebayo. As one of the original invitees who did not bail on USA Basketball (unlike the bulk of the, I don’t know, Top 50 players), Turner should get some extra consideration, but his play will ultimately win him a spot.
