Myles Turner and his USA Basketball teammates are back in action on Friday night when they face Spain in friendly as both teams prepare for the FIBA World Cup in China which begins on Aug. 31.

After a couple of days of workouts at the Los Angeles Lakers practice facility, Team USA will be in Anaheim where they will face an experienced Spain squad who will be a major factor in China.

Among the familiar names on the Spanish squad are Ricky Rubio (Suns), Marc Gasol (Raptors), Rudy Fernandez (former Blazer), Willy Hernangómez (Hornets), Juan Hernangómez (Nuggets).

Turner continues battling for a spot on the final roster along with a significant role in the playing rotation. Turner and Brook Lopez are the two main big men in the mix and based on rumblings from scrimmages, they have shared time ‘starting’ and playing with better lineups.

Hopefully Turner works his way into the mix because the experience would be great for his game. Share your thoughts and observations on the game in the comments.
