Pacers big man Domantas Sabonis represented the Pacers well over Memorial Day weekend while taking part in the Indy 500 festivities. On Saturday, Domas took part in the 500 parade downtown, giving and receiving plenty of love while cruising the parade route on a convertible Camaro.
Then on Sunday, Sabonis was given the celebrity treatment at IMS, arriving to walk the red carpet before the green flag flew to start the race. He appeared to enjoy the weekend, complete with the requisite kissing of the bricks at the Speedway, as much as fans enjoyed seeing him involved.
Hard to say that the Pacers running Sabonis out for the month of May is an indication he will be here to begin next season. No doubt, the team would like that to be the case. However, Sabonis remains a valuable asset who will likely be involved in any trade talks should the Pacers make a bold move to alter their lineup at the end of June. Sabonis tweeted about looking forward to being back at IMS next year, but will this be Domas’ last 500 as a Pacer?
Here are some highlights from the festivities:

Started a “SABONIS! SABONIS! SABONIS!” chant.
