The Pacers hit the road to take on the Celtics in a crucial game for playoff seeding between the two teams. All of the motivation to play hard and play all 48 should come from this:
After the game, both teams will have just six games remaining so the Pacers can either emerge from TD Garden with a strong two-game lead in the race for home-court advantage or they will be deadlocked but behind in the tie breaker AND riding a 10-game losing streak on the road.
The Pacers haven’t won a roadie since beating Washington way back on Feb. 23. The teams split their first two games earlier in the season, both winning at home, but both also including Victor Oladipo who rose up and stunned the C’s with a game-winner at the Fieldhouse in early November.
While the C’s remain daunting on paper, they have lost five of their last eight games. Both teams have had ample opportunities to seize the fourth spot in recent weeks and have stumbled instead, but tonight should have all of the feel of a playoff game, so buckle up.
