The Pacers begin a lethal stretch of the schedule at home when Paul George and the Thunder make their annual visit on Thursday night.
The Thunder rallied in the second half to beat Brooklyn on Wednesday night, leaning on the the super powers (not to mention 37 minutes a piece) of PG and Russell Westbrook to run past the Eastern Conference upstarts.
Catching the Thunder at home on a back-to-back is a schedule break the Pacers need to take advantage of during this stretch. As always, it will be interesting to see how PG responds to the pressure of returning the the Fieldhouse to play a Pacers team he spurned two summers ago. PG is flourishing this year, with an MVP-worthy season while playing next to Westbrook, who remains the team’s leader. The perfect situation for PG and surely a reason he signed an extension with the Thunder.
As for the Pacers, they appear to have a crisis of confidence when playing the better teams in the league this year and will have to face that reality starting tonight. Tyreke Evans remains out for personal reasons, upsetting the reserve rotation but also giving Aaron Holiday a chance to raise his game and impact the Pacers as they close out the season.
