After finishing their four-game season series with the Pistons on Friday night, the Pacers (14-7) begin their three-game season series with the Knicks (4-18) on Saturday night at MSG in NYC.

The game will also complete the Pacers current five-game road trip as they try to bring home a winning record after splitting the first four games. There is always plenty of noise surrounding a game played at the Garden but more so for this one since the Knicks fired David Fizdale on Friday and will debut Mike Miller (no, not the monkey-owning shooter) to lead the team against the Pacers.

Miller has G-League experience, leading the Knicks developmental squad with an emphasis on the defensive end. With the current Knicks roster, they are best suited for a defensive rock fight when you see Marcus Morris, and Taj Gibson among the expected starters.

The Pacers should fare better in the front court after struggling against the forceful front line of the Pistons. The Knicks roll out plenty of power forwards, but don’t have the size the match Myles Turner and Domas Sabonis.

The last game of a road trip on a back-to-back isn’t an ideal situation for the Pacers. Combined with a coaching change which usually draws out a strong initial effort from the team changing coaches and the Pacers will have work to do to earn the road win. But with the matchup advantages the Pacers should enjoy, they just have to take care of business to grab another road win.
