The Pacers (21-12) host the 76ers (23-12) for their annual New Year’s Eve afternoon game at the Fieldhouse.
This monster matinée showcases two teams fighting for the same real estate in the Eastern Conference standings with the Sixers currently sitting in 5th place, one game ahead of the Pacers in 6th place. This is also the second game between the two teams after the Pacers fumbled away an impressive effort in Philly on the last day of November, losing 119-116 despite having a one-point lead and the ball with 14 seconds remaining (still generates a hearty, UGH!).
The Pacers have dropped two in a row including their worst loss of the season in their last game at New Orleans. Those two were played sans Malcolm Brogdon who expects to be back in the lineup today. For the Sixers, Joel Embiid is a late scratch which alters the game dramatically.
Hopefully all Pacers fans can ring in the New Year with a W.
