Christmas Day around the NBA is normally bereft of any Pacers news, let alone a game. But thanks to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Pacers fans were able to enjoy a little extra holiday cheer when he reported an update on Victor Oladipo’s hopeful return between the Celtics win over Toronto and the Sixers/Bucks game.
ESPN Sources: Pacers All-Star Victor Oladipo hopeful for a late January/early February return from ruptured quad tendon: https://t.co/jr3WipSrrH

While this may not be great news considering the preseason hope was for Oladipo to return closer to early January than early February, the fact we’re a month away from an ‘hopeful’ return date, at least makes Vic’s return actually seem like a reality.
Honestly, nothing from the various videos showing VO rehabbing or in practice situations have given much hope that he was close to a healthy return, so the more time the better considering his teammates are holding it down nicely, waiting for his return.
In fact, after that loss by the Raptors, the Pacers and Raps are tied in the standings but the Pacers currently have a tie breaker to move them up to fourth. If the Bucks win, the Pacers could move to 4th in the East.
Merry Christmas, indeed!
