The Pacers (12-7) try to bounce back on the road Monday night when they visit the Grizzlies (6-13) at the FedEx Forum in Memphis.
The Pacers snapped a five-game winning streak in frustrating fashion, letting a late lead slip away in Philadelphia to begin their current five-game roadie, 0-1. With a day off in Memphis, the team should be ready to bounce back against the short-handed Grizz.
Dynamic rookie Ja Morant will not play while dealing with a sore back which started when he landed on the baseline cameras at the Fieldhouse last week. Jonas Valanciunas (illness) is also questionable. Of course, the same short-handed Grizz squad beat the Timberwolves in Minny on Sunday afternoon. So they will fight, but on a back-to-back, the Pacers should maintain an advantage.
Last Monday, the Pacers beat the Grizz, 126-114 at the Fieldhouse but left Nate McMillan complaining about the defense as Memphis hit the Pacers for 62 points in the paint.
