The Pacers (7-4) put their recent defensive strength to the test against the high-scoring Rockets (8-3) on Friday night.
The game is a clash of styles with Houston leading the league in three-point shot attempts (46.3), nearly twice as many as the Pacers (24.3) who are last in the league. With Harden leading the way, the Rockets also lead the league in free throw attempts per game (29.8) while the Pacers are also last in the league (17.6). Oh, and 17.6 per game seems high for the Pacers.
But scoring more than the opponent is the only stat that actually matters, and the Pacers are Rockets are more comparable in that area despite taking different paths to the final result. Both teams will be short-handed with Houston missing three key rotation players in local legend, Eric Gordon, center Clint Capella and Danuel House Jr. The Pacers are still missing Myles Turner, Jeremy Lamb and Edmond Sumner, along with Victor Oladipo...so, no sympathy for Houston.
