The Pacers are in Detroit on Monday night desperately seeking a win in a rematch of their opening night clunker against the Pistons.
What looked like an opening night W brewing after three quarters turned into a loss thanks to a smelly stew of defensive lapses, ineffective offense and a barrage of Luke Kennard 3-balls. Kennard’s 30 points combined with 32 points and 23 rebounds from Andre Drummond was enough to have the Pacers doubting everything they are doing.
The lack of confidence lingered in their second game, a fight-free, double-digit loss to the Cavs on Saturday. Now the Pacers roll into Detroit for a rematch and another chance to show if there is any character to be had with this group.
Regardless of what happens tonight, the Pacers are a work in progress, but it would be nice if they could show a little progress against the Pistons.
