The Pacers wrap up preseason play on Tuesday night when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves.
After completing the trip to India, beating the Bulls last Friday and showcasing their rookies’ singing talents at the Fan Jam event on Sunday, the game tonight is the last preseason milestone before the team can set its sights on opening the regular season at home against the Pistons next week.
The best news is, so far there have been no serious ill effects from any of the preseason play or travel. In fact, the team is getting healthier with rookie Goga Bitadze expected to make his debut with the Pacers against Minny after a balky ankle has kept him out of action in prior practice games.
Edmond Sumner has been a bright spot so far but he is dealing with some variation of illness that has sidelined him the past couple of days, so he may sit it out tonight.
According to reports from practice on Monday, Nate McMillan plans to play his starters most of the minutes in the first half and then turn over the second half to the bench players scrapping for rotation minutes in the real games that begin next week.
