The Pacers passed another preseason milestone on their way to the Oct. 17 opener when they hosted fans for the annual FanJam event at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Sunday afternoon.
With the Colts’ game running long down the street at Lucas Oil Stadium, you would assume the crowd may be late to arrive in full force, but that was not the case. The entry pavilion was filled with waiting fans an hour before the show started and fans spilled out in lines down both Pennsylvania and Delaware.
The Pacers streamed the festivities which you can still watch to check out some of the highlights.
The Pacers scrimmaged for 16 minutes, although the exhibition scrimmage had nothing close to a Dan Burke-approved level of defense. There were plenty of threes and everyone got in the act from behind the arc.
Victor Oladipo outshot Bojan Bogdaovic in the finals of the 3-point shooting contest. You can watch the full thing here, which included Aaron Holiday and Tyreke Evans going down in the semis.
Of course, no Fan Jam would be complete without the rookie show. While Elija Stewart struggled to get into his Taylor Swift number, Aaron Holiday gave his performance some juice, channeling the Back Street Boys while dressed as a Teenage Mutant Nija Turtle. What Alize Johnson lacked in singing ability he made up for in showmanship, dominating the show while singing Lady Gaga in a Cat in the Hat suit.
Great fun to give the team a little break while wrapping up their first week of work. Here are the rookie show performance by Holiday and Johnson.
