The Indiana Pacers suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 5 with LeBron James hitting the game winning shot at the buzzer to go up 3-2. James had 44 points in the game, but like with all the losses, the Pacers have to feel sick given the number of wasted opportunities they had in the game.
The Pacers led by seven at halftime, but a horrible third quarter put them behind heading into the fourth. Despite that, the Pacers clawed back in the game, tying it up at 95-95 and had the ball with 26 seconds to go. Victor Oladipo attacked the rim and James got away with a goaltend that would have given the Pacers the lead.
Because nothing matters in the end, however, James hit the game winning three, sealing the win. Oladipo had his worst game as a Pacers, shooting 2-15 with 12 points. Domantas Sabonis led the way for the Pacers with 22.
The Pacers face elimination, hosting the Cavs for Game 6 on Friday.
