Pacers vs. Pelicans game postponed due to roof leak

A roof leak in New Orleans led the NBA to postpone Indiana’s road matchup against the Pelicans. The game will made up.

The Indiana Pacers did not take the court tonight against the New Orleans Pelicans due to a roof leak at the Smoothie King Center before tip off.

The leak was eventually redirected, but the court remained an issue due to the water damage. Pelicans GM Dell Demps spoke on Fox Sports New Orleans after the decision, explaining that it came down from the NBA to postpone the game, citing player safety.

The game will be made up at a later date, but finding a day in which to do so may prove very difficult. The only available game date that wouldn’t put one of the teams in a back-to-back-to-back situation would be February 22 just after the All-Star Break, but that is simply speculation. The league will make an official decision regarding a make-up date.
