The Pacers have a chance to bump their road record to .500 with a win in Dallas on Monday night.

The Pacers continue play on the road when they make their annual visit to Dallas to face the Mavericks on Monday night.

In their last meeting, the Mavs closed strong to beat the Pacers in the first of four Oladipo-free games at the end of December. It was also the second game of season-worst five-game losing streak which left the Pacers with a .500 record. Since losing those five games, the Pacers have gone 15-6 and have a chance to improve their road record to .500 while keeping pace in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

As for the Mavs, they are going in the opposite direction. The win over the Pacers was part of four consecutive wins to close out December. However, since the calendar new year, the Mavs are 5-17 while keeping pace in the tight tanking standings among the bottom dwellers in the NBA. Mark Cuban was fined for admitting his preference for tanking at this point, but it is hard to imagine that will alter the team's approach on the court.
