The Pacers wrap up their season series with the Sacramento Kings on Saturday night at the Fieldhouse with both teams dealing with SEGABABA.
The Kings lit up the Cavs in Cleveland on Friday, taking full advantage of a trade day that left the Cavs short-handed after dealing George Hill to Milwaukee and Sam Dekker to Washington. The 129-110 win allowed the Kings to manage the minutes of their key players, which combined with the short commute from Cleveland to Indy should have Sac in good shape at tip time.
As for the Pacers, they delivered an impressive win in Orlando on Friday despite being the short-handed team without Victor Oladipo and Domas Sabonis. Vic remains out and Sabonis will be a game-time decision against the Kings. Fortunately, the big win near the Magic Kingdom allowed the Pacers to also manage their minutes.
As the Pacers learned last Saturday in Sacramento, the Kings have plenty of young fire power and will not roll over down the stretch. For evidence, they just have to look at the frustrating 111-110 loss last week. The Pacers needed one more bucket down the stretch and in failing to do so, allowed the Kings to step up and swipe the dub. Sac took full advantage of the situation and sent the Pacers home with a loss.
So, yeah, the Paces owe ‘em one tonight.
