After holding on to win their fourth consecutive game on Monday, the Pacers enjoyed their off day with a practice that included Victor Oladipo. Making it through practice also let the Pacers upgrade VO’s status for the Bucks on Wednesday to questionable.
That creates a game-time decision for Oladipo’s availability against their Central Division rival, but Nate McMillan also indicated his star will initially be on a minutes restriction as he plays his way back into full game shape. A best guess would be, barring any setbacks leading up to game time, that Oladipo would be available off the bench on Wednesday.
Talk about a boost. VO getting up to check in would certainly get the Fieldhouse rocking.
They will need all the help they can get against Bucks,a team that ran (and shot) the Pacers out of the gym in Milwaukee in the second game of the season. The Pacers are a much different team this time around, even without Oladipo fully ready to contribute.
Myles Turner touched on the team’s improvement yesterday during an appearance on the Jim Rome Show. The big man credited the teams depth of talent and how they are fitting together for their ability to play better than .500 ball while Oladipo has been sidelined.
The Pacers have had a few quality wins among their 17 Ws so far, but beating the Bucks would be their best win to date. Giannis Antetokounmpo missed the Bucks rout of the Cavs on Monday with a sore neck but is expected to play. Hopefully, the Pacers can get some quality minutes out of their star and lean on that depth find a way to win.
