The Pacers wrap up their season series with the Rockets in Houston on Sunday, trying to avenge a frustration home loss last Monday at the Fieldhouse.
The Pacers came up empty down the stretch in that game after putting themselves in position to win in the final three minutes. While the Rockets pulled out that win, they didn’t score over 100 points and continue to struggle offensively, which seems absurd to say.
On Saturday night, the Rockets scored just 89 points in their 96-89 loss to San Antonio as James Harden was 1-13 from three land. That may not bode well for the Pacers, since Harden could easily bounce back and find the range at the Toyota Center. Still, the Rockets will be on a back-to-back and have failed to score over 100 points in their past four games.
The Pacers found some energy and additional offensive help for Victor Oladipo in their win over the Heat on Friday. Now if they can start making even an league average amount of free throws, they may be onto something. Somehow, the Thunder and Kings are shooting worse from the line for the season, but as a team the Pacers are still making less than 70 percent of their freebies.
Domas Sabonis was listed as questionable with a sprained ankle on Saturday, but an update from the team has Sabonis available to play against the Rockets.
