The Pacers spent their off day in Houston prepping to play the Rockets on Sunday. Unfortunately, they delivered some bad news with an updated injury report that had Domantas Sabonis listed as questionable with a sprained ankle.

After several games with a clean injury report, seeing a key cog like Sabonis was a jolt considering Domas is most capable of hurting Houston’s switching defense when he has the ball in the post. Sabonis says he will be good for the Rockets, so hopefully the questionable turns to probable instead of out by game time.

Up in Fort Wayne, a couple of Pacers had strong starts for the Mad Ants as they played Friday and Saturday. In the opener, Edmond Sumner lead the Ants to a win over Erie with 22 points, 4 assists and 5 rebounds.

But Alize Johnson really turned heads with his effort in both wins. On Friday, he scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, including making 2 of 4 three-pointers. Then in the Mad Ant’s blowout win over Maine on Saturday, Alize torched the Red Claws with 27 points and 20 rebounds, again making 2 of 4 threes. Johnson employs a nose for the ball with an aggressive attack mode which would honestly be a nice change of pace for the Pacers on those nights when the energy is low and things aren’t working.

Ike Anigbogu played Friday night and also had a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Ike sat out the last half of the back-to-back though.
