Pacers vs. Trail Blazers: Game thread, lineups, TV info and more

New, comments

After a couple of days to rest on the road, the Pacers resume their roadie against Western Conference teams in Portland.

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

The Pacers continue their nine-day road trip when they face the Portland Trail Blazers in the first of back-to-back games on Thursday night.

With souvenir Ws from Phoenix and Utah packed away, the Pacers face a tougher road challenge against the Blazers. Portland rolled past the Pacers, 114-96 in the second game of the season. Like tonight, Myles Turner was missing and while Jusuf Nurkic didn't have a monster game the first time around, his size and ability will create problems for the Pacers thin front court.

C.J. McCollum lit up the Pacers for 28 points while Victor Oladipo had his worst shooting night of the season. Vic has exploded to raise his game several levels and he will need to do so again, by not simply neutrallizing McCollum's impact but actually winning that matchup. Then the Pacers just have to worry about Damian Lillard...yeah.

Domas Sabonis will need to avoid foul trouble against Nurkic as he returns to Portland where he was born and where his dad Arvydas remains a local legend.

Great matchup and a great test for the Pacers as they face the Blazers with an opportunity to really put together an impressive road trip.
