Victor Oladipo gets NBA All-Star boost from Dwyane Wade

Despite the help, Oladipo checked in at fourth in the latest NBA All-Star voting returns.

Victor Oladipo had a little help from a friend to boost is NBA All-Star voting totals on Monday.

Dwyane Wade, a long-time NBA mentor for Oladipo and training partner this past summer, tweeted a vote for others to retweet. And retweet they did, with over four thousand and counting following DWade’s lead.

Unfortunately, the latest vote results showed Oladipo sliding to fourth behind Ben Simmons and ahead of Wade. Voting ends on Monday, Jan. 15 so closing the gap will be tough for Oladipo especially considering the fact that LeBron James tweeted out a vote for Ben Simmons which was retweeted over 20,000 times!

Oh, well, the voting is only a portion of the All-Star selection process and only used to name the starters. Oldadipo’s play on the court, impressing opposing coaches who will be selecting the reserve players, has been plenty strong to earn him a spot in the league’s mid-season showcase.

Vic can thank DWade in person on Friday night when the Pacers take on the Cavs at the Fieldhouse.
