Vote: Clash of the All-Time Pacers Jerseys

New, comments

We want you! (To help us sort the best jerseys from the bad and the ugly.)

Pacers V Magic

Since Nike is refreshing each team’s uniforms as part of them taking over as the league’s sporting apparel company next season, SB Nation is in the process of rolling out a special jersey-themed week in partnership with its team sites.

As you likely recall, the Pacers recently unveiled previews of their farm-inspired new look by sharing images of cult hero Lance-freaking-Stephenson sporting the Icon Edition (Blue) jerseys.

For our part, we here at Indy Cornrows need to submit our five favorite uniforms in the team’s history as well as the one we deem as the absolute worst. Due to the subjective nature of this process, we thought it better to turn the decision-making duties over to the collective preferences of our fan community.

Remember, these choices can be as much about eras of team history as they are about design taste. Consider, for example:

  • Do you prefer Pacers-Knicks Rivalry Reggie (Flo-Jo) or 2000 NBA Finals Reggie (Pinstripes)?
  • Do the Pinstripes immediately evoke memories of the 2000 NBA Finals, The Brawl, or Reggie’s final season?
  • Did Blonde George Hill make the Hickory uniforms or did the Hickory uniforms make Blonde George Hill? (kidding)

Fear not, early and life-long Pacers fans. We didn’t forget about Mel Daniels, Roger Brown, George McGinnis, and Freddie Lewis, but we did narrow the ABA uniforms down to the jerseys worn by the 1973 ABA Champions, which have also been revisited by the team as “Hardwood Classic” throwbacks. For a closer look at what we’re calling the “NBA Classic Blue” uniforms the Pacers wore when they first joined the NBA in 1976, head to Pacers.com’s gallery. Below are the most recent designs.
