Paul George let everyone know he was in town and relaxing on the water outside his Geist home on Wednesday when he posted this on Instagram.
Those calm waters and a fishing pole provided plenty of mental therapy for PG as he recovered from his broken leg two years ago, and now no doubt provides a quiet refuge as everyone around the league pines for his services (just check the comments).
PG is in town for the Caroline Symmes Celebrity Softball Challenge which he will co-host with Robert Mathis, T.Y. Hilton and Pat McAfee on Thursday evening at Victory Field. Among other Pacers expected to be at the game are Myles Turner, Glenn Robinson III, Lance Stephenson, Danny Granger and Jermaine O’Neal.
Paul George has been in and out of Indy a few times this offseason, according to various neighbors who for some reason always let me know when he’s in town. He’s enjoyed breakfast at Lincoln Square recently and even skipped the quick drive, instead walking the mile and a half back and forth to his home.
So, PG certainly isn’t hiding out while in town as all indications point toward him playing out his contract this season with the Pacers. His response to the inevitable questions about his future at the Thursday event should be quite interesting and also inevitably overanalyzed.
Speaking of overanalysis, Jeff Teague was working out at the Fieldhouse on Wednesday. Not something you’d expect to see from a free agent if he doesn’t intend to remain with his former team.
Hmm, what else is there to look forward to in mid-June? Stay tuned for more from Victory Field on Thursday.
