The Pacers try to keep hope alive for post-season play when they visit the Cavaliers on Sunday evening.
While the Pacers have post the playoffs in jeopardy by losing five of their last six games, they find the Cavs trying to gain some momentum for the playoffs after losing four of their last six games.
The Cavs have their starting five healthy which has added to the concerns, but LeBron James annually flips the switch when needed so maybe he’ll wait until after the Pacers leave town. But the Cavs are still fighting for home-court in the East, now in second place a half game behind the Celtics, so they should be fully engaged for the Pacers. Also, Kyle Korver has missed the last three games and is unlikely to play on Sunday.
The Pacers will welcome Lance Stephenson to the mix on Sunday, but remain without Glenn Robinson III and Al Jefferson. The reserve rotation continues to put the Pacers in a bind so we’ll see if the limited minutes Stephenson is expected to play on Sunday helps any.
Of course, the Pacers remain desperate to win, but will still need some help to eventually make the playoffs. A win in Cleveland would give them a big boost toward keeping those playoff hopes in play.
