The two teams had a double-OT thriller in Cleveland two weeks ago, with the Cavs pulling out all the stops to eventually pull out the win. LeBron James played 52 minutes in that game, Kyrie Irving played 47 minutes. Both Paul George and LeBron scored over 40 points, as Lance Stephenson made his season debut with the Pacers.
Yeah, it was fun. But now in the playoffs, the game is all business and the Pacers will have their hands full with playoff LeBron being rested and ready to go. As we know, the Pacers will have to be several points better than Cleveland since they will not get any calls on the road. Avoiding frustration and still keeping touch with the Cavs to have a chance to win late will be the goal.
Despite their level of confidence as a different team over the final six games of the regular season, the Pacers remain heavy underdogs. Any hopes for a series upset will require winning at least one of the first two games in Cleveland and Game 1 on Saturday may be their best shot.
