The Pacers and Pistons resume their season series at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Saturday night. The Pacers lead the series 2-0 after after beating the Pistson at the Palace twice for a couple of rare road wins.
While the Pacers have won five consecutive games, the Pistons arrive playing better of late having won five of their last eight games, nudging their way into eighth place in the East thanks to Charlotte’s six straight losses.
Matchup problem remain against the Pistons as they have given the Pacers fits with their perimeter shooting to go along with Andre Drummond in the middle. The Pacers may be without Thaddeus Young after he sprained his left wrist in Brooklyn on Friday. Since that is his shooting hand, even if Young plays his game may be limited.
If Thad can’t go, the Pacers will have to decide between starting a “normal” lineup by sliding Lavoy Allen in at PF or going smaller with Monta Ellis or Glenn Robinson III starting which moves C.J. Miles to PF. With Jon Leuer starting for the Pacers, small may work fine since Leuer will slide out to shoot threes.
