Spurs vs. Pacers: Game thread, lineups, odds, TV info and more

The Pacers look to raise their level of play which alone may not be enough to beat the Spurs on Monday.

NBA: San Antonio Spurs at Indiana Pacers Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

The Pacers and Spurs battle for the first time this season on Monday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

The Pacers are stuck in a three-game losing streak trying to find a competitive edge against some of the best teams in the league which certainly includes the Spurs. This team normally responds to a poor effort, which certainly describes the losing effort to Milwaukee on Saturday, with a strong effort and improved level of play.

Even that may not be enough to beat the Spurs. San Antonio arrives after a loss to the Knicks on Sunday which isn’t good for the Blue and Gold since the Spurs have only lost two in a row twice this season. Also, with the All-Star break later this week and the loss at Madison Square Garden, Coach Pop may be less inclined to rest any key players.

As it is, the Spurs are playing without Pau Gasol (finger) who hopes to return after the All-Star break. The Pacers will be without Thaddeus Young (left wrist) who has missed the last five games.
