According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Indiana Pacers will host the 2021 NBA All-Star game.

The team publicized a major announcement for Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET, but as usual Woj scooped the news in advance. Regardless, the Pacers and Indianapolis targeting the event last year and made the official bid in New York back in April, complete with Larry Bird rolling up to the NBA offices in an Indy Car.

While the optics were surely great, no one does big events better than Indianapolis and the city’s track record hosting the Super Bowl, many Final Fours among other monster events surely made this an easy decision for the NBA. This will be the first time the ASG has been in Indy since 1985 when Ralph Sampson won the MVP but Michael Jordan and Dominique Wilkins battled in the golden age of the dunk contest with Nique taking home the hardware.

Details about how the weekend will unfold and where events will take place will likely be addressed by the Pacers at 4 p.m. ET which you can watch via this link.

Speaking of Final Fours, Indy will also host the NCAA Championship weekend in 2021 as well, two months after the NBA All-Star game. Yep, we grow basketball here and the future bounty is plentiful.
