The Pacers reacquaint with the Pistons for the first regular-season matchup against their Central Division rival in Detroit. And as we celebrated in the preseason, the game will actually be in Detroit at the new Little Caesars Arena and no longer at the Palace at Auburn Hills. YEAH!!!!!!!!
While the Pistons fell short of expectations last season under Stan Van Gundy, they have shown significant signs of improvement early this year starting off with a 7-3 record. Big contributions from newly acquired Avery Bradley along with Tobias Harris have given the Pistons a balanced attack. Even more surprisingly, Andre Drummond has not been a liability at the free throw line, making 75 percent of his freebies thus far.
The Pistons will be without starting small forward Stanley Johnson (hip).
Were the Pacers healthy, I'd say they would have an advantage with the second unit but Domas Sabonis (calf) will be out again along with Glenn Robinson III, so the Pacers thin front court will have to rely on Al Jefferson or let the young rook, Ike Anigbogu get some run.
After losing their last three games, the Pacers need to try something different, especially on the offensive end where they have to stay in attack mode throughout the game.
