Much like the Pacers, the Kings are trying to develop a young, talented core of players with several veterans on the roster to help guide the way. George Hill, Zach Randolph and Vince Carter have plenty of experience but after a 1-5 start, the Kings are still trying to find the right mix.
Looking at the matchup on paper, this is an actual game the Pacers should expect to win which immediately puts the W in peril. The recent past is littered with bad losses to underdogs and just when the Pacers have earned a little praise for their effort we will quickly find out if they can handle all of the positive reviews.
So beware, the classic letdown trap is set complete with a sparkling look-ahead game against the Cavs on Wednesday.
Among the young Kings, rookie De'Aaron Fox is the most electric with speed to burn while still trying to develop a consistent perimeter shot. Both Hill and Randolph sat out on Sunday but are expected to be available for their return home in Indiana. If they are not able to answer the call on Tuesday, Fox and Skal Labissiere will slide into the starting lineup again.
