Vegas odds keep Indiana Pacers as a playoff contender in East

The Pacers made a lot of offseason changes but the latest win projections from Vegas expect similar results.

The Pacers made some drastic changes to their playing rotation this summer which has created varied opinions on if those changes will fail or succeed. So it is always interesting to see what the people who build the big casinos in Las Vegas have to say on the topic.

The Westgate Superbook released their over/under win totals for the NBA on Tuesday and the o/u 43.5 wins for the Pacers tells us the bookmakers believe the Pacers will tread water this season, willing to pay for matching their 45 wins from last season.

Looking elsewhere in the East, the projected wins number has the Pacers tied with the Hawks for fifth place in the Eastern Conference behind the Cavaliers (56..5), Celtics (51.5), Raptors (49.5) and Pistons (45.5).

Also interesting to see some familiar names who made noise this summer, not earning the confidence of Vegas. The Bulls, Knicks, Heat and Magic are all under 40 projected wins and outside playoff contention

The Wizards are slotted seventh in the East at 42.5 wins with the Hornets and Bucks projected to battle for the eighth spot in the East at 39.5 wins.

In the West, the Warriors obviously have the highest win projection after winning 73 games last season and adding Kevin Durant. That makes the sky high 66.5 o/u numbers actually look low.

Here’s the full list of over/under wins. Which teams look good for an over and/or under wager?
