Team USA erased any stray doubts about their intention to go for the gold in Rio after running past China, 119-62 in their opening game in Olympic pool play.
After posting the 57-point win, the victors gathered at center court to break it down and then gave the appreciative crowd a wave before hitting the media rounds.
Paul George came in early off the bench and was quite aggressive on the defensive end, a bit too much so at times, picking up a couple of perimeter fouls. PG played over about 18 minutes and finished with 15 points, three assists, three rebounds and a couple of nice dunks.
Kevin Duran led the team in minutes played with 22 and points scored with 25 points to go along with six assists. KD was the only player to log more than 20 minutes as all 12 players played at least 10 minutes.
Team USA returns to Group A play on Monday when they face Venezuela.
